Французский режиссер Бруно Монсенжон, создатель знаменитых фильмов о музыкантах, три года, вплоть до смерти Маэстро, вел аудиозапись и видеосъемку разговоров с великим пианистом. На этом материале был создан фильм "Рихтер непокоренный", ставший сенсацией. Человек, которого мы знали совершенно с другой стороны, перед камерой делился самыми неожиданными суждениями о музыке и музыкантах. "Он ненавидел позировать и испытывал отвращение к любой саморекламе", - рассказывает Монсенжон. Все записи, оставшиеся "за кадром", впоследствии вошли в эту книгу.
В Британии, Франции, США и Японии "литературная исповедь" Рихтера пережила уже не одно издание и всякий раз расходилась моментально. Отечественное издание выгодно отличается от зарубежных тем, что в нем впервые опубликованы все дневники полностью.

In the book are represented six notebooks of the personal diaries of S. Richter and unique memoranda of the conversation of the author with one of the most closed geniuses of the twentieth century.

The French director of Bruno Monsenzhon, the creator of famous films about musicians, for three years, up to the death of the maestro, conducted and recorded conversations with the great pianist. On this material was created the film "Richter not subdued", that became sensation. The man, whom we knew completely from other side, before the camera shared the most unexpected judgments about the music and the musicians. "He hated to sit and experienced aversion to any self-advertisement", says Monsenzhon. All records, which remained "after the sequence", subsequently entered into this book.

In Britain, France, USA and Japan the "literary confession" of Richter survived no longer than one publication and every time it sold out immediately. Domestic publication differs significantly from the foreign in the fact that in it all diaries are for the first time published completely.
